This was my first Monterey Half and I’m already looking forward to next year. The course was well organized, there were plenty of aid stations with desirable fuel and hydration, and the scenery and weather couldn’t be beat! My favorite part was getting to see the elite runners speed by on their way to the finish, and cheering them on gave the rest of us such a boost!

Despite the organizers’ best efforts amidst weather and course terrain, there was a LOT of mud. My group started a little late which made us get stuck (figuratively and literally) behind many walkers. However, the volunteers were excellent, aid stations perfectly spaced, and the course was very dynamic and the miles flew by!
