This is one of many halfs run in Flushing Meadows Corona Park throughout the year. This is probably one of the colder ones.
You will get to see some of the sights of the world fair, as well as the mets and tennis stadiums in the distance. The course is mostly flat with the exception of a small overpass you will cross a total of six times, though it’s not a big deal. There are a lot of turns. That said, PB’s are quite possible.
Swag design is pretty good. The donuts are pretty typical, jelly, chocolate sprinkle etc. Supposedly they run out of donuts sometimes so if you are at 2:10+ you may be in for a disappointment.

In a nutshell you run across the Golden Gate and back. Oh, and there are some hills you run up and down on either side. It can be a bit intimidating seeing where you are at sea level vs. Where the bridge is on the approach. You run up a hill through the Presidio and across. On the other side you go down hill and then quickly back up. After getting across the bridge’s arc the last 4 miles or so are largely downhill or flat, which is nice.
There is a fairly steep hill at the end for all you full send into the finish line types. It probably goes without saying but the scenery is quite good
Race logistics/swag were pretty good. The half has 4 waves. It would have been better if they had signage with expected paces. People kind of self organized and things were a bit tangled at the beginning. If you want the included post-race beer you need to have a photo ID on you, no matter how old you look. Cool medal with spinning bridge pillar this year.

Note the 2022 course was slightly different from the norm due to road construction. Field size for half was 400-500.
As noted the course is one of the hillier road halfs you’ll find either way. It’s out and back starting at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds. Actual amount of fall foliage can vary year to year but Rhinebeck and the surrounding area is pretty nice.
Administration was very smooth with decent refreshments, T-shirt, and wood carved medal.
