This race is always fun no matter your level of experience. This was my fourth CIM. I trained for the race with high expectations. Needless to say, a couple of weeks prior to the race, the ails of a long distance runner raised his ugly head. My strategy for the race changed overnight. Regardless, the race is so well organized and full of great supporters (runners, spectators, volunteers, etc). I finished with a time that I am happy with. I encourage runners of all abilities to consider this race even if it is your first marathon.

This was my third time running CIM. The first two I was well trained and both were personal records. I did not train as well for this race but entered it because I knew I would have a good time regardless. It wasn’t my slowest marathon but I still had a great time. The race is well run and the spectators make are encouraging to help one keep going.
