I heard the lies about the first half of the marathon being the hilliest. I believed them too! After I got through the first 13 miles, the slightest incline felt like Everest. However, this marathon is doable and after a few days off. I wouldn’t mind going back and trying for a better time.
Just keep in mind that San Francisco is an expensive place to stay, eat, and run. So plan early and be about those hills when you train for this race.
