Great cause. I loved seeing the officers and cadets running in formation. Loved the fire truck with the flag over the street. The scenery wasn’t anything to get excited about. Parking was at The Grove and moved pretty quickly. By the time I finished the race they had started packing up some of the water/banana tables and I was no where near the last person to cross the finish. I was running to honor my two uncles and a friend and I made my own bib with their names on it, I wish there was a blank bib that I could have written in their names like they offer at the cancer support races. Overall, I had a good time. I would do this again next year.

I had a great race experience despite the weather. I arrived early & was parked by 5:20am so I didn’t experience any of the traffic issues as others have stated. Yes, the 30 min delay was a bummer tho. My friend finished before me and said it was difficult to see the runners coming thru so she wasn’t able to get a pic of me. I felt along the end zone was a perfect place to have water, bars, fruit, something. Since the field was so big we stayed near the blanket give away area until we found our group. The line for the photo op was really long so I didn’t feel like waiting for that, maybe add a couple other areas since there is so much space? I didn’t even see the beer garden or anything else. But by the time I finished the rain was really coming down and we just wanted to get to our cars. I would do it again.

This was my first half marathon ever. I felt the volunteers along the course were awesome! I was toward the back of the pack and even as I came thru the water stations they were all so excited as if I were one of the first, they were great. My only real complaint was that it was not easy for me to find info for spectators. Since this was my first race ever, I had friends that wanted to come out to support me yet I could not find any real spectator info until the week of the race. My friends are planners and kept asking for info two months before the race. On the website maybe add a spectators tab with all of the info listed in the many emails sent out the week prior to the race. All in all, a great race event, I will be back.
