Josh puts on a great race. We had a late start this year, but I’m sure it was out of the RD’s hands. Short of that, I think it would be difficult to find anything wrong with this event.

After running many versions of this fast downhill course, my advice is this:
1. Just sign-up.
2. Train downhill miles (but don’t forget there are some uphills). Training the down will help you stay strong late in the race. Additionally, you will recover MUCH faster.
3. The start lines are cool, much cooler than the finish. Dress accordingly, either to drop bag or to donate.
4. Have fun on race day!!!

This is your last chance, flat as a pancake, fast BQ marathon. This course is 100% honest, you won’t have any advantages, but you also won’t have anything working against you. If you need to get it done and you’re ready to do the work, just show up. Aid was perfect, post-race is great, RD is top-notch. The ONLY thing that’s not perfect, but is tolerable is you have to return through the slowest half-marathoners on the way back and that can be tricky. *If you’re a high maintenance runner and need personal support on the route, put your (wife, husband, friend) on a bike, and they will have AWESOME access to you, with your bottles, fuel, etc. What are you waiting for, your BQ is out there!!

I ran this marathon 6 days after running Mountains to Beach Marathon, I had every reason to suffer and be miserable, BUT the race was too good to suffer through. There were great crowds, a beautiful city, fun aid stations…can you say pickles? I can not recommend this race more highly, and if you can’t race this one, you should put an international race on your bucket list!!!

This is not for Rock N’ Roll and Disney runners. This is a beautiful rural marathon with a fast-as-hell downhill course. The party doesn’t start until you get to the finish, but there you’ll be surround be very happy BQer’s! Sign-up early, it always sells out. You’ll never regret running this race and giving it all you have. RD is AWESOME too!

Such an awesome morning of girl power!! The hardest part of this race is deciding between racing, or just enjoying it with friends. There’s prize money 1st-3rd in both the 5K and 10K!! The course is hilly, but still fast…what goes up, must come down. If I had a daughter she would be there every year! Perfect 1st race for anyone!!! Bring your PICK and lace-up your shoes!
