Impressed with organization/friendliness

I’m very glad I did this race, despite it being a smaller, local race (I’m not from Livermore). Every single volunteer was friendly and smiling. Bib pickup and shirt pickup was a breeze. The race started promptly. Tons of bagels and snacks afterwards. The t-shirt was great quality. The tag says Gildan brand which I have seen before. It’s not that thick type of cotton, and it’s not that uncomfortable sporty material. It’s in between. Like a softer thinner cotton with a stretch to it. Love it.
The course was beautiful. The course was also very clearly labeled. There were small orange cones with clear, green labels with arrows and specific distances. A “turn around” cone was clearly labeled as well.
Most of course was paved but there were some sections with rocks or dirt. I didn’t mind these sections at all. There were hardly any hills, maybe one or two small climbs in the 10k course. Smaller generic medals were given out. I believe this race raises money for local school sports. I do recommend this small race!!

If I could improve this race, I would add a volunteer at the halfway mark of the 10k route.
The 10k was an “out and back” route. There were two cones at the far end, one at the 3 mile mark and I believe the 2nd was the 3.1 mile turn around. It was hard to tell though, there were no signs. I seen a runner turn back at the first cone, but I understand why. The first cone had balloons on it. If that was the turn around, then I ran too far and ran to the 2nd cone which had “10K TA” stamped on it. I assume that was the 10k turn around.
The medal was a generic 10k medal, so if you’re looking for a medal with a race name and year, this might not be the race for you, but I dont mind. I’m unsure how the half marathon and 5k medals looked though.
The bib pickup table was not clearly labeled. There were two lines. The left line had a sign that said t-shirt pickup. I assumed the right line was for the bibs but the line on the right didn’t have a sign, so i got in that line. Once I reached the table, I told the lady my name and she simply pointed to the next line without saying a word. I headed to the line with the sign that said t-shirt pickup and got my bib and t-shirt there.
The course was flat and fast. About 3 aid stations for the 10k. Some gave out paper cups but some had plastic cups which can be hard to bend shut to drink and run at the same time. Just an FYI if you’re a runner that likes to run and drink at the same time.
I did enjoy a free mimosa at the beer garden and the vendors were great as well.
