The Expo was fun-set in the infield of the Richmond racetrack and easy to navigate. Very organized with a few vendors set up.
We stayed downtown at the “Holiday Inn Express-Downtown” and only had a couple blocks to walk to the starting line. Very nice hotel and would highly recommend.
The race was beautiful! Running through downtown and out along the James River was so pretty this time of year. There were so many spectators along the whole marathon course, it was impressive! I’ve been in races where the 2nd half is quiet but not this race! It really lived up to “friendliest” marathon. Lots of people handing out water, candy, pickle juice/fireball shots and just really encouraging.
The course had several spots of rolling hills, but not unreasonable, especially if you’ve incorporated hills in your training. Loved the downhill finish!! Finish line was a little congested but they did a great job directing towards the post race area.
Overall I would highly recommend this race!
