This is a nice St. Patty’s day 5k. It is a well put on 5k. The course is on a paved bike path. There is a hill at the beginning of the course, but not many more hills after that. Swag includes a green cotton tee shirt. You also get beaded necklaces and St Patrick’s day themed headbands and wrist bands.

This race started out in the dark on the top of a mountain which was beautiful. After the first hour, when the sun began to rise, it became hot and there is no shade along the course. The water stations were not large enough for this big of a race and the cups given were small dixie cups, so once you get a cup, it has very little to no water in it. If i ran this race again, I would carry my own water. I am happy with my performance and was on track to PR, but the last 10k was a struggle for me. The combination of the direct sun and dehydration really got to me, forcing me to slow down. The after party was large and the medals are nice too!

Most of the race is on a trail and the course is out and back so you do pass runners often, both half marathon and marathon runners. That is nice for comradery, but the half marathon walkers were finishing when I was finishing the marathon and took up a lot of the course, which makes a fast finish hard to accomplish. The after party was large and had a lot of food options. You are given 3 alcohol tickets; after a marathon I cannot stomach much of anything so I did not partake, but the tent was crowded and runners look like they were having fun. The course was not as well marked as I am used to and there were small signs for mile markers. There were not many volunteers at the water stations, so be ready to get your water right away. Nice medal and shirt. Rehoboth Beach is a cute town and the scenery was nice!

This is my hometown race, but is also my favorite race that I run every year because it is just so meaningful. Every mile is dedicated to a child at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and the children and family are out along the course. Fast and flat course. Great crowd support even on rainy days like this one.

Such a beautiful race! This year was particularly windy, which was challenging as a Nor’easter was coming in, but the scenery was great! I did not love the three hairpin turns that we had to run in the second half. There were a lot of hills as well. Swag was nice and the shirt has a good material and a cute design. I also PR’ed on a tough day, so I would definitely recommend this race.

This was a really well put together race. I ran the half marathon with my cousin, who also has a 50 state goal. Since I am pregnant, we ran the race for fun and I was able to take in the course scenery more than I usually would. The course has rolling hills, but was quite scenic. You finish through the arch, which was lined with mums- it was picturesque! After the race, they were giving out soup, which was a nice change. Overall, great half marathon!

this race was hot and not well supported, but checks off a state. It was an out and back 5k in a sunny park. The shade felt nice, but there was not much of it. The race could be a 5k, 10k if you run 2x, 15k x3, and 13.1 if you run 4 times plus a little more.

This is a great race! Sugarloaf is one that many try to BQ and PR at. I had just run a marathon the week prior, so I was unable to test my speed and race to my full potential, but I think this could have been a PR course for me as well. Would definitely recommend for a Maine race!

The first 5 miles were significantly downhill and my quads were feeling it early on (around mile 3)! The rest of the course was more gently downhill with an uphill around mile 10, which I did not mind after running so much downhill. The course was pretty, but there were almost zero spectators. I did not love the finish…. we combined with the half marathon walkers and I had to slow down and weave the last mile which was not ideal given I was trying to hit sub three hours. I was very close, but missed the goal by less than a minute. Overall, I really liked this race!

This race was an out and back course x 4 for 13.1 or x 8 for 26.2. It was on a paved bike path and there was a turn around spot around a cone. The race was small and I liked that I would pass runners as I was working on the next lap, but this race was pretty boring. It checked off Texas for me because I was in the area for Christmas, but nothing to rave about. The finishing plaques were a nice touch as they had each participant’s name on them.

Awesome volunteers and course! This is a very fast and mostly flat race! Columbus was my first marathon in 2012 and I ran it again in 2023 and it is currently my Personal Best! I love how each mile is for a child at Children’s Hospital and you run by each child champion and can high five them and their families.
