This particular race event was created by a PNW local comic book artist, Matthew Inman, who is also the creator of the Oatmeal. There are couches along the race, plenty of tongue in check places to take snaps, and lots of cake with a Burritoughnut Station, where you can build a burrito out of doughnuts. You’re also celebrated for your personal worst. You even get chased by someone dressed in a Blerch costume, and along the course people were dressed as characters from the comics. The swag bag had the cutest t-shirt, and the cutest Blerch medal. Would I do this race again next year? Heck yes, and I would bump it up to a half marathon!

I’m a Pacific Northwest Local, and I would have to say that I was really impressed with how professional this race company is. Orca Racing was so good, they actually had police directing traffic, beautiful finisher medal and t-shirt, and the prettiest half marathon I had an opportunity to explore. I would definitely sign up for Orca Racing events in the future.

Wow, the race production was on point and very professional and well organized. I participated in the 5k, and I think the scenery would have been more beautiful if I signed up for the half marathon. I would recommend this particular race as an overnighter, rent an A frame cabin in Ashford, WA and do the half marathon and 5k over the weekend. The finisher medal and t-shirt are super top notch, great quality and design. This company, Vacation Races, has racing events across the US, and the Globe. I would sign up for the Yellowstone Race because I heard nothing but good things from close friends.

What I love most about this race was ending with the cherry blossom tree’s in full bloom at the UW. The finisher medal was beautiful, and totally worth the miles, and the t-shirt was fantastic quality and a beautiful design. There was a lot of elevation, but that is excepted because the run was located in Seattle. The Cherry Blossom flavored doughnuts was definitely the highlight of this race. I would sign up again, but I would make the race a half marathon next time. This was my first racing event.
