2019 EVENT ON HOLD. From race website: “We appreciate all the support we have had from our runners and the Texas running community over the years. Although Reebok Ragnar Luckenbach was well received by those who participated, this event has not grown as expected. With this in mind, we are going to take some time to rethink the optimal Ragnar road experience in Texas, and have placed the Ragnar Luckenbach event on hold for 2019.
Never fear though — you can still get your Ragnar fix nearby. Ragnar Trail Hill Country-TX at Flat Rock Ranch, about an hour outside of San Antonio, is the ultimate weekend getaway. Grab your most adventurous friends and get ready to run relay style over two days and one star-filled night!”

THE BEST OF TEXAS, AND A LEGENDARY FINISH LINE. Blue bonnets, long horns, backcountry roads and friendly communities. Enter a Texas state of mind at Reebok Ragnar Luckenbach. This year, runners will experience cooler running temperatures as they run relay-style, 200-ish miles from the new start line in San Marcos to legendary Luckenbach.
This course features the best of the lone star state: rolling hills, pockets of wild flowers, winding rural back roads that pass ranches and farm country, views of the Guadalupe River and the Texas Hill Country.
On Friday, runners chase the sun until it becomes the moon into the night. Headlamps, lit-up vans and stars overhead light the way during this unforgettable overnight running relay race.
On Saturday, the legendary music venue and dance hall, Luckenbach awaits runners. Not only is it the namesake for Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson’s hit song, but also an ideal spot to celebrate your 200-ish mile adventure. This race wouldn’t be complete without the sweet smell of bbq, food trucks, beer, bragging rights and sore muscles.

Ragnar Luckenbach was awesome. Of course, it was my first ragnar so I have nothing to compare it to except half marathons. The course was tough! You’re definitely in hill country and they had no qualms about ending already “hard” legs on super steep hills so be prepared! I’d definitely do it again. Great swag, awesome scenery and afterparty area.
