Please join us for the annual Let’s ROC! Run for Ovarian Cancer. For the past 10 years, this race has brought the Sacramento community together to celebrate and honor the women and families affected by ovarian cancer. The race provides the opportunity to show the strength and grace of those fighting the disease, and to remember those we have lost. United, we fight alongside these amazing women, and continue raising awareness and much-needed research funds. Throughout the past 10 years, with your support, we have awarded $75,000 in research grants and have given the local ovarian cancer community a voice. We hope you will join us on race day. Thank you for your continued support!
Each year more than 20,000 women in the United States are diagnosed with ovarian cancer and approximately 15,000 women die annually from the disease. Unfortunately, most cases are diagnosed in the later stages when the prognosis is poor. However, if diagnosed and treated early, the five-year survival rate is over 90%. There is currently no accurate screening test for the early detection of ovarian cancer; therefore, it is important to know and understand what the risks and symptoms are.
OCERN is dedicated to educating women and their families about ovarian cancer and to raise much needed funds to support ovarian cancer research. You can help by being a part of this year’s race. It is easy to donate as a team or as an individual.
Let’s ROC is organized by the Ovarian Cancer Education & Research Network, Inc. The mission of OCERN is to advocate for research for the early detection, treatment and cure of ovarian cancer. We promote ovarian cancer education in our communities and provide a network of resources and support for women and their families. OCERN is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization founded by several dedicated volunteers who have a personal connection to ovarian cancer.

Run for Ovarian Cancer (not to be confused with the Ridiculous Obstacle Course) in 2012 near UCD Med Center in East Sac. Super super hot conditions, local residents along the course would have their hoses/sprinklers on for us to run through (before the drought of course). Cotton shirt with race reg. I think they moved the race time from the afternoon/evening to the morning and now include pancake breakfast.
