I love this race! It starts at the St. Augustine Beach Pier parking lot, so parking is available. You can get either a tee shirt OR a santa suit to run in (I get the shirt, so I can wear it throughout the year). I’d say probably 90% of runners are decked out in SOMETHING festive! They play upbeat Christmas music at the start/finish line.
The medals are cute, kind of small (but it’s a 5k, so…), and I love them.
The course is a loop, mostly through local neighborhoods. Sidewalks are wide, for the times you need to be on the sidewalk. It’s also pet-friendly… I see folks with their dogs.
Afterward, the atmosphere is upbeat and cheerful, with LOTS of people sticking around to cheer on us slower folks. Post-race snacks have included bananas, water, Gatorade, muffins, granola bars, cookies, crispy treats, and lots of other yummies!
