Welcome to the Hillbilly Half Marathon, formerly known as the Franklin Half Marathon. This will be our fifth year running out in Leiper’s Fork, TN through the pristine, rolling hills of rural Williamson County. This area is home to country music stars, movie stars, A-listers and moonshining hillbillies. It is an eclectic mix of colorful people and you will quickly see why.

This race has been recognized as one of the most difficult, yet scenic half marathons in the southeast. The heat, humidity and hills will challenge all athletes, but in the end, you will be proud of your accomplishment. There will be motivation and possibly some heckling along the course, but it is all in good fun.

As you may have noticed, we moved from the beginning of June to the end of September. While this is no guarantee of better weather, it is highly likely that there will be cooler temps and less humidity. If you were interested in the race before but did not like the June date, now is the time to come back and bring your friends.

You should not run this race if you are:

3. Scared of banjos
4. Do not like hills
5. Do not like heat
6. Do not like humidity
