Explore alpine meadows, huckleberry groves, and old pine forests as you weave through Mt. Spokane Ski & Snowboard Park and the best trails the State Park has to offer. Available at 50k, 25k, and 10k options, The Kan provides a mountain race feel but on a fast and quite runnable course. You don’t have to be a “runner” to do a trail race! Stick around to celebrate after the race. Burritos and kombucha will be provided! We will have Power Bar drink mix, gels, and gummy’s at all aid stations, as well as soda, gummy worms, and assorted snacks. Packet pickup will be at the Spokane Fleet Feet the night before!
50k
Starts at 7:00am.
The 50k provides 6,000ft of elevation gain- perfect for mountain lovers and flat speedsters alike. The course begins with a 6.8 mile loop, immediately dropping 1,400ft over 3 miles, then climbing Trail 110 back to the Start! After restocking at the Start Aid Station, runners begin a fast second loop (8 miles) on XC ski trails, cruising around Shadow Mountain. After restocking at the Start Aid Station a second time, runners begin the 25k course by traversing through the Ski Park then climbing up the Cat Track and Northwest Passage to the Summit!! After bombing down the backside switchbacks and hitting the 3rd Aid Station, runners circle Kit Carson then climb back to the same Aid Station. Finally, runners traverse through Bald Knob and bomb down to the Finish!
25k
Starts at 7:30am.
The 25k provides 3,300ft of elevation gain and comprises the second half of the 50k course. Runners begin by traversing through the Ski Park then climbing up the Cat Track and Northwest Passage to the Summit! After bombing down the backside ski run switchbacks and restocking at Aid Station 1, runners hit Day Mountain, circle Kit Carson, then climb back to the same Aid Station. Finally, runners traverse through Bald Knob and bomb down to the Finish!
10k
Starts at 8:00am.
The “10k” offers 1600ft of elevation gain and provides the full Mt. Spokane experience in just 7 miles! (Hence, the “10k”)This course will be sure to satisfy beginners and experienced runners alike. You don’t have to be a “runner” to do a trail race! Begin by traversing through the Ski Park and climbing 1,500ft directly to the Mt. Spokane summit. After restocking at the Summit Aid Station, runners descend down the backside switchbacks and around through Bald Knob!
