Run The Bluegrass Fall Royale at The Kentucky Castle this October is a brand new addition to our lineup!
Parking capacity at The Kentucky Castle is a fraction of what it is at Keeneland, therefore our race capacity is a lot smaller. About 1500 max runners per day. To get around that, we are currently working with local Woodford County residents, farms and police to potentially move our 10K to Friday evening, so only our Half Marathon would be on that Saturday morning.
If we can do this, we will be able to accommodate 1500 Half Marathons on Saturday morning, plus another 1000 or so 10K’ers (and 5K’ers) that Friday evening.
We have early, preliminary approval from TKC and Versailles Police for this proposal, and after the New Year we’ll continue talks with the major farms and the local residents, before announcing a final decision.
For now, we are going to limit Half Marathon registrations to only 1200 for that Saturday. Then, depending on how local farms and residents respond to our request to run our 10K that Friday evening, we’ll open up more spots for Half Marathoners or 10K’ers on their respective dates.
