Nestled in the Ruhr metropolitan area of the northwestern German state, North Rhine-Westphalia, the city of Duisburg is perched at the confluence of the Rhine and Ruhr rivers. Home to the world’s largest inland port, with 21 docks and 40 kilometres of wharf, the city has become a hotbed for cultural festivals, inspiring events, amusement parks, idyllic lake landscapes and now, Germany’s newest IRONMAN 70.3 race. Finish the race in the ‘Schauinsland-Reisen-Arena’ home to the MSV Duisburg football club, also known as ‘Die Zebras’.
Swim
The 1.9km swim course takes place in the renowned regatta course of Sportpark Duisburg, which was opened in 1935 and has hosted canoe and rowing world championships. With excellent water quality and easy orientation, you will find perfect conditions for the start of the race, which will certainly lead to some personal best swim times.
Bike
The 90km bike course with two loops leads over the historic ‘Bridge of Solidarity’ along the Rhine towards Moers. The course profile is fast and flat – perfect conditions for a new personal best.
Run
The 21.1km run course leads in three laps along the regatta course through the green park area of Sportpark Duisburg. In 2022, it was voted the third-best IRONMAN 70.3 run course in Europe by participants, promising a crowning finish to the race with a fantastic atmosphere for all involved.
