Very Poorly Organized for an Ironman

The course was amazing, the volunteers, did their best, but this was not an organized race. I have done IM races across the US and Mexico in addition to many other triathlons. The organization for this race was on par with a “local” race that costs half of an ironman branded event.
The road signage made it next to impossible for spectators to get to the sight and cheer people on without having to walk 30 minutes. Maybe there were busses maybe not, the volunteers did not seem to have been briefed on the details.
There was no morning bag, or way to leave the stuff prior to swimming. Most races that start in the cold have something so you can wear a shirt and some shoes up to close to the starting time so you don’t start off super cold.
They did have plenty of aide stations, porta-potties, and a super cool medal. I really enjoyed the race, but my family said it was the worst one they have been two.
So if you are doing it, go alone.
