Every sporting event must have certain rules in order to be fair, pleasant and safe for all. In this area, La Chute du Diable is no different!
Here are our rules:
– Prohibition of whining, and especially good humor is mandatory!
– Complete the entire course as indicated. It is forbidden to take a shortcut or to cut the switchbacks.
– Wear your front bib proudly. It must be visible at all times.
– Make sure your number is recorded by the volunteer responsible at each refueling station (22, 35, 50 and 80 km runs).
– Let the passage to vehicles, bears, wolves, wasps and other wild creatures of the Mauritian forest. Carefully follow the instructions of the volunteers responsible for safety at the crossroads. Trails and paths will be open to the public on the day of the event. Please respect other users.
– Inform a safety volunteer if you give up the race. Give him your bib, unfortunately you can not keep it and you will have a mention … DNF (Did Not Finish)! Transportation to the Amphitheater will be provided upon request. Failure to warn a person responsible will trigger search and rescue operations …
– Follow the volunteers’ instructions and accept the decisions of the medical staff at the refueling stations.
– If you are injured and unable to continue to the next refueling station, stay on the spot until you reach the broom. He can help you or warn security officials. Do not take a shortcut to get to the next refueling, this could complicate search and rescue operations and delay the time you are rescued.
– Accompanying persons or “pacers” are not allowed on the courses, except for the 80km event (from the 45th km, compulsory registration).
– The poles are allowed only on courses of 35, 50 and 80 km. They are forbidden on courses of 1, 3, 6, 10 and 22 km.
The time allowed to complete the 35 km course is 8:00. Riders must therefore cross the finish line before 19:00. They must have left the Lac en Croix refueling station (km 25) before 17:00.
The time allowed to complete the 50 km course is 11:00. Riders must therefore cross the finish line before 19:00. They must have left the Red Pins refueling station (km 15) before 12:00 pm and the Lac en Croix refueling station (km 40) before 17:00.
The time allowed to complete the 80km course is 14h00. Riders must therefore cross the finish line before 19:00. They must have left the Lac Vanneau refueling station (40.4 km) before 11.45 am, the Pins-Rouges refueling station (46.6 km) before 12.45 pm and the Lac en Croix refueling station (71.9 km). ) before 17:00.
Each refueling station will be in operation for a specified period. If you decide to continue after closing a section of the course, you will no longer be considered an official participant in the race and will do so at your own risk.
The positions of the first three men / women will be determined according to the “Gun Time” principle. This means that the first three riders in each category (men / women) to cross the finish line will be considered for the top three positions (medals). In no time the “Chip Time” will be considered for the first three positions.
Leave the trails free of waste. We must leave the trails as clean, if not more so, than when we borrowed them. Make it your responsibility too! Failure to comply with these rules could put the event in the future in jeopardy. Pay special attention to gel packs and energy bar packs !!! Any participant who is surprised to leave rubbish on the course will be subject to immediate disqualification.*
Zero-Gobelet® Initiative. Please note that there will be no disposable cups at the supply tables. You will need to use your personal hydration system (water bottle, hydration bag …), or use a foldable cup that you bring with you. It will not be allowed to drink directly from the pitchers!
Participants in distances of 10, 22, 35, 50 and 80km must have in their possession 500ml of liquid. It will not be possible to start without this amount of liquid.
If you do not comply with the rules described above … you will be subject to disqualification. You will also have to justify yourself to the Devil himself. Think about it!
