A great, low key race in Providence Canyon with 6 mile loops which make it excellent for a first time ultra. The beginning and end of each loop, regardless of running it clockwise or counter clockwise contains some elevation. That elevation is a perspective coming from Florida. If you live in N Georgia or Alabama it isn’t hilly but a lot hilly for Florida.
RD is great and has been doing it for many years. I DNF’d the 50K as I started out to hard but it being a state park, came back a month later and completed my proper 50K unsupported.
Bring waterproof shoes or shocks as the trail runs through a very minimal stream but your feet will get wet.
Aid stations were well supported and the RD hosts several races that day, to include a short race with pets which is fantastic and does not interfere at all with the 50K. Will definitely be back!
