The mostly flat course will run along the beautiful Riverwalk Trail by the Dan River. The course is paved, but may have a 100 yd. unpaved trail section. This depends on whether the culvert is complete or not. THIS IS A CHIP TIMED RACE. ALL AWARDS WILL BE GIVEN BASED ON CHIP TIMES. Course time limit will be 3.5 hours (16:00 minute mile pace).
All race registrants will receive a high quality short sleeve technical running shirt, and all finishers will receive a beautiful custom medal.
This year we will also be hosting the River City 5K Presented by Sovah Health on the same day as the Danville Half Marathon.
Timing will be conducted by Blue Ridge Timing. Groups of 50 will be organized and arranged so each waiting area is six to eight feet away from the adjacent group. Please kindly observe and adhere to areas marked off for your waiting group. WE RECOMMEND FOR YOU NOT TO BRING BYSTANDERS OR OBSERVERS WITH YOU. You are asked to WEAR A MASK IN THE STAGING/WAITING AREAS AT ALL TIMES. Please bring your own mask, and if you do not have one, masks will be available. You do not have to wear the mask while running and a trash receptacle will be provided at the start line for you to discard your mask.
AWARDS: IN ORDER TO MINIMIZE PERSON TO PERSON CONTACT THERE WILL NOT BE A POST RACE CEREMONY. Winners will be notified to pick up awards at the The Brick at 410 Main St. or awards may be mailed.

This was a small race (about 100 runners) with very few spectators, but it was beautiful and the weather could not have been better. The folks directing the race were super helpful and kind. It was also one of the more inexpensive races ($45), so it was a budget-friendly option for my family. It is a mostly flat course along a river, some light trails, and a beautiful finish crossing a bridge over the river. Smaller aid stations; didn’t matter to me as I carry my own things. Just a lovely surprise: a great way to spend a morning was running this race!! I came in 3rd in AG and only my second half, PR by 9 minutes, so it was a great run for me!
Nice race
Great small-town race. There was some nice running along the river. Pretty flat. Finished 2nd in my age group which is always a great surprise! MORE
