The race is an out and back course at Brushy Creek Lake Park. The majority of the course was on paved sidewalks, the beginning and end are on a granite gravel trail. The day before it it rained all day which made for a very muddy start/finish. The trail was fairly flat with a total elevation gain of approximately 80 feet. There was one water stop approximately 2/3 mile out that you could hit both ways.
The race is quite small with approximately 150 runners but it was a sold out crowd. Each participant received a soft-cotton t-shirt and a bag of goodies from the sponsors at packet pickup including trials to fitness classes and a running shoe heal light. Each finisher received a choice between a visor or hat. Awards were given to top 3 overall male and female and first place in age groups and they received an engraved lowball by RTIC. There was a raffle after awards with thousands of dollars of prizes (with approx 1 in 3 winning) including foam rollers, race entries, and a YETI cooler.
