Is your bracket busted? Take those frustrations out on the 5K course here in Marysville.
Just a little bit of what this race is about and is doing. This 5K is a fundraiser for The Ronald McDonald House. This charity is amazing and does so much for families. We had the opportunity to go and tour the house where families can stay as long as they need while their child is receiving treatment at the hospital. During this tour, we saw first hand how this charity has changed lives. We talked with a family who has had to spend a lot of time there. When a family leaves they are given an option to leave a donation in any amount but it is not required. Each night it costs over $100 per room to operate but on average the house receives $6 in donations from someone who stays there. Which is fine because that is why they are there to help those in need.
**This is where we come in**
Signing up for this race is not just running it is raising money to help keep this house available for those in need, it’s helping provide toilet paper, toothpaste, brush, food… any everyday supplies. It keeps families close by while their loved one is receiving treatment. It’s sharing love, being supportive, showing compassion, and kindness to those in need.
Every dollar raised goes to this charity.
Danielle, Mikey and I (Jessica) are running our first half marathon on Team Ronald McDonald. This 5K is part of our fundraising efforts. Come out for a fun, friendly run that also has a bigger purpose… BE A PART OF SOMETHING BIGGER! Let’s help raise money to keep this charity running strong!

The course was flat and easy. Perfect for a new runner or someone seeking a PR. It goes through a park so the scenery is good though crowd is not as plentiful.
The swag included a cotton shirt and a gorgeous medal, plus plenty of treats at the end. For a $25 registration fee, you couldn’t beat it. The raffle prizes were amazing. There was a variety of race regs (each with differing distances) offered as prizes, as well as gift certificates to the local running stores and much much much more. Last year, I won a pair of Hokas!
The race director is outstanding. He’s so detail oriented, he even ordered up perfect weather. And, he made an effort to speak with each of the runners before and after the event.
