Challenge Family, with more than 40 races all over the world, had its first race in Vietnam on September 11, 2016. Athletes from over 30 countries, converged in Nha Trang to face one of the biggest challenges of the year, 1.9km Swim, 90km Bike and 21km Run. After a great success and being nominated as the best inaugural triathlon event in Asia, the next edition of Challenge Vietnam will take place in 2018.
Situated in the South Coast of Vietnam, Nha Trang is known as the capital beach of the country. By coming to Nha Trang, both athletes and families will be able to enjoy the numerous tourist attractions, to taste delicious fresh seafood and to get to know a new and completely different culture. Moreover, its geography and weather conditions offer the possibility of having a remarkable course and enjoying a great race vacation.
Challenge Vietnam offers one of the most stunning race courses in Asia. The triathlon starts with 1.9 km swim in calm and clear water. Then, the transition takes place in the 2/4 square, a centric location and right in front of the beach. From there, athletes will move to the most impressive part of the triathlon, the bike race leg which will take you to a seaside road that goes along the resort segments, the local boat harbor and the cliffs. Definitely an enjoyable ride with the winding clear roads and slight inclines and declines enabling you to gain speed for the push back to the race central. Finally, the run will also take place along the coastline so athletes will experience the cool breeze of the sea air while being accompanied by the sight and sounds of the locals and tourists.

An inaugural event, well put together by organisers and city. Bit heavy on the ride loops, Rather hilly terrain but great ocean views. Very fortunate to have an overcast day, I may have missed cut off otherwise.
Swim 53:21, Ride 3:55, Run 2:33 and too long in change overs!
