This community race is the perfect May tune-up run for summer training, and it makes for a great morning with a lot of kind and fun people. The weather is ideal with a typical starting temperature around 60 degrees, and the course is beautiful with tree-lined streets throughout the course. With the middle school being the host of the starting and finish line activities, there are clean restrooms and shelter in case of rain.
This race has a 5K, 1 mile, and kids race with competitive and recreational divisions. Sponsored by Road Runner Sports, the race provides a cash prize and finisher medals for the top male and females finishers in the 5K and 1 mile races.
The volunteers cannot be kinder, and the race is well organized and well- marked. There is water on the course, popcorn at the finish, along with other foods and music to keep the party going! This race is sure to bring a smile to your face, and it is well worth the registration (which provides you a technical running shirt) that goes directly to the Les Turner Foundation for ALS research.
