The start line shuttle info seems daunting and confusing but is not at all on race morning. The first 2/3 of the course and the finish is stunningly beautiful! I had no idea that the loop around Ojai was though orange orchards. I’d never been that close to an orange tree before. I also loved the canyon section of the run. It was very picturesque. I didn’t love the section coming into Ventura. It was a long straight endless looking road that came t the part when I was beginning to fade. It is what it is!! Great Race! Loved cheering for other runners in the beer garden that was along the final home stretch! Volunteers were fantastic!

This run is challenging as it’s run in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. The elevation may be tough for some but give I live nearby I train at this altitude. The course is uphill until the turnaround then down back to the start. The old highway this race is run on is closed to all traffic in both directions so feels like you are running for the most part alone in the mountains. This race is green, and organizers & volunteers do a really great job of ensuring everyone adheres to this principle. Gorgeous to hang out for awards and prizes along the beautiful Bow River in downtown Banff. COuldn’t ask for a more beautiful setting for a race!
