The course is beautiful and peaceful, but much more difficult than last year, with so many more hills (and I train in the hills!). The course was reversed from 2014 and the last mile or so was on difficult, rutted (from a tractor?), hard-packed dirt and then on soft dirt. It ended running through a vineyard (which was cool), and then up, up, up to the finish line! The support and volunteers were wonderful and the bling is one of my favorites. I love the Wine and Music Festival at the end – lots of vendors – the energy is upbeat and everyone is celebrating. I hope the course is again changed for next year because I would love to run the race again. If it doesn’t change, I won’t be back. There are too many l-o-n-g hills, right up to the finish line.

Packet pick-up is a breeze – well organized and friendly people. Parking is a little tricky at the start line, so drop off or shuttles are the way to go. The course is super scenic and winds through vineyards and farmland, complete with horses, cows, and even some buffalo! The course is hilly after about mile 6, but I run this race with my son every year and never get tired of it’s beauty and serenity. And the fun, unique bling always draws compliments!
