Always be ready for a change in weather. The morning started out at 35°, then gradually got warmer. Before start time I came out of my running jacket. The course is loaded with aid stations (official and non official ones) with Powerade and water. The post race food and beer makes it all worthwhile!

This was my first time running this race in its current location. The course was good, with some hilly areas through out. Water/nutrition stops were great. The course spectators were really great, especially, the businesses at different mile markers (the YMCA had the best stretch). It would have been perfect if the porto-johns at the start line were across the street, by the post office; they were literally right at the start line, so people waiting in line cut through the crowd of runners. The post race food and craft beer was EXCELLENT! I’ll definitely run this one next year.

This was my first time running this race. The area is nice. The course is great! The one thing that wasn’t so great was the parking. There parking volunteers were few, so it was hard to know if a lot had parking spaces available, until parking further out and passing by the empty parking spaces. Other than that, it was great. The post-race festivities were well organized and there was plenty of space; people weren’t all on top of each other. The weather beautiful! I’ll be back for 2023!

The run was good. Volunteers great. Weather was perfect. The post race festivities were disappointing. When I race in Louisiana, I go for the post race festivities: food and craft beer. Well, the food was pancakes and the beer wasn’t craft. Baton Rouge race equals at least Jambalaya!

Great course. Great swag. Needed more volunteers to monitors turn-arounds. All the post-race chocolate was great for later. I will definitely run it again in 2023. MORE

This was a good race. The majority of the course was through a neighborhood, then 2 miles of it on a trail. The scenery was nice and refreshing (with the breeze from the bay). Had to watch out for the wildlife (geese). This was a good run to finish up my race running until October. The post race was good: food, drinks, and photo ops with the Star War characters! The finisher’s medal was really nice (wasn’t expecting that).
