This was a small but fun, organized race. The half medal was huge and very shiny & fancy! T-shirt was soft. What I appreciated much was the ease & how close parking was to the start on race day and how easy it was to get out when you were done earlier. Finish line smoothies were amazing too!

The course is flat and pretty scenic and temperatures were great for distance running. Packet Pickup was pretty uneventful. Flights were reasonable into Charleston, hotel was pretty expensive, but some good restaurant options in the city. Parking before race was not bad arriving about 40 mins before start time, but leaving the free parking lot about 3 hours later was a nightmare- they needed more volunteers to direct traffic.

Of course, it’s awesome to say you’ve run over the Golden Gate Bridge but this race is very expensive, not super organized, photos cost $30 and up, the expo is just okay, on the course the half marathoners course crossed the runners doing the full (scary), and the course was pretty crowded the whole way. I enjoyed participating with so many other runners and of course you’ll get some great selfies on the route, but it’s not a race I will do again because of the price compared to the experience and swag.
