I was not expecting the race to be as big as it was! For a big race there were lots of bathrooms (one in every coral). Pro tip- if you are in a late coral, wait until the last second to use it! Was able to use it with no line 2 minutes before I started!
The first two miles were full of monuments to look out for. There were a couple out and backs but with all the people and music stops I didn’t really notice it. I expected the hill to be killer but honestly, walking it with all the spectators and the entertainment it wasn’t as bad as everyone says!
Overall a well organized and fun race!

First time doing the Sunflower 6k and had no idea what to expect! The race had amazing swag that included shirt, medal, sunflower, cold towel, and ice cream (flavor of your choice!)!
However, the course was pretty hilly and was 99% on roads (with potholes 🤣). It was mostly running through neighborhoods- however most was the shade so I won’t complain. The race had very long bathroom lines but the director waited for everyone before starting which was so nice! There was also a very long line to get ice cream at the end. But with no plans the rest of the day I didn’t mind!

Decided this was one of my favorite races I have ever done. The waterfalls and scenery were amazing-the miles flew by. I was very lucky because it had rained all week before and you could hear the waterfalls as you approached. The race was mostly on a flat, smooth, shaded trail which was great for June. Water stations were always stocked and some even had strawberries!!
My only complaint would be the line for bathrooms, however they were really apologetic and seemed like they would add more next year.
Overall, I loved the vibes. The race was pretty low-key and everyone who I ran into- volunteer, runner, spectator- were the nicest people and were awesome! I usually don’t repeat half marathons but this one is making me change my mind.
