I did the challenge which was 5k Saturday & marathon on Sunday. Loved both on Saturday we ran thru a garden area with beautiful sculptures. So cool to run with Ernie on his 100th birthday. We had a bird that sang the anthem with the person. When they would get louder so would the bird. On the marathon the scenery kept your mind on other things. The water stations were great and the volunteers cheered you on. The second half had more hills than the first but was a great course. My 1 and only complaint in 2 years was the latch on the porta potty I used yes it was stuck and I could not get out. Not a “race” issue but maybe they need to talk to the company that supplies them. All 3 of the medals were awesome and the mug was a added surprise. Cowtown is one of my favorites.

Not enough water on the route be sure and take your own water. Loved the misters wish there were more of them. Could see the ocean in a distance and black lava surrounded us. I’m not fond of running out and back on a highway.

Loved the finisher shirt, jacket and medal. The cobblestone was hard on the feet at the stock yards but was a short distance. There was just enough variance on the course to make all the muscles work their fair share. Not one of my better times but enjoyed every minute.
