This was such a well organized and pleasant run. Such a unique experience to run over the Ambassador Bridge to Canada and return through the Detroit Windsor Tunnel. The race was relatively flat with only the onramps and offramps posing a challenge. The race toured downtown, the suburbs and some of the outskirt manufacturing areas. The crowds were great! There were only a few miles that were sparse but I will never forget leaving the tunnel, passing through the boarder patrol terminal and a hug crowd erupting as you enter downtown Detroit. Great race all together!

The hills are real. The wind is too your face (almost the entire time). But…you wont even notice. Be in awe of the course completely and recognize the complete gratitude of getting to experience one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world. You will probably not PR…and that’s ok. Take the pictures and the deep breathes. If you can run with someone, do it. Talk, laugh enjoy it all. It is an absolute blast of of race.

This was a crazy fun race. You start heading towards the famous “Las Vegas” sign, turn around, run the entire strip up to old Vegas then end up in the desert for 10 miles. It went from incredible to dull almost instantly and often wondered if I missed a turn or something. Finally getting back to the strip was awesome, then ran a parking lot at Circus Circus for three miles. The finish line was amazing but felt weird about all the highs and lows of the race. Ultimately, had a blast but one of the weirder races I’ve done.

I liked the location but most of the race took place in the surrounding towns and not at the air force or museum. Granted, they were not going to let us see the Roswell debris or where the alien research facility is but it would have been fun to run near them and some of the planes.

I love my city. This race is a taste of what Indianapolis has to feature. From downtown, to Broadripple, to the Art Museum and back through the surrounding neighborhoods. Its always fun to see the city and what it has to offer. Great, flat course to qualify for other runs too. Can’t wait to run again and see what the city has to offer as it grows.
