After multiple local races, I signed up for this race with the hope of hitting my goal of sub-2 HM (Thanks Strava). With 25000 runners and non-stop rain, it was a challenge to navigate through the pre-race area after a 1 hr subway ride from Manhattan. But kudos to the NYRR and other volunteers for making it as smooth as possible. It is ofcourse a very popular race and a very easy one if you are aiming for a PR.

This was my second race and I signed up for this race just for Brazen. My first ever race (Hellyer) was so well produced that I couldnt resist signing up for another one within 1 month. As always, the race was well organized and i enjoyed it through and through.

Hellyer is a nice little Local race with plenty of parking and great support by the locals. It was my first ever race and didn’t know what to expect. But, the entire production by Brazen is top notch and it made it very easy for a first-timer like me to enjoy the race from the get go.
Water, Gatorade and gels were placed at the right places and the volunteers were very helpful. The snack varieties were interesting too.. From mini pretzels (for Salt) to Jelly belly (for Sugar), you have it covered. Infact the last 3 miles, I ran with handful of Jelly belly to cross the finish line.
I have been training for the past 1 yr to improve the numbers and now am a sub-2 HM runner. But, I will never forget my first race. Thanks Brazen.
