Rocket City Marathon
Flat, fast course with plenty of aid stations offering water/gatorade and gu! Awesome crowd support. Well laid out course map allowing family to easily follow and cheer you on. So … MORE
Flat, fast course with plenty of aid stations offering water/gatorade and gu! Awesome crowd support. Well laid out course map allowing family to easily follow and cheer you on. So cool running through the Space and Rocket center. Post race pics are free and include you w/rockets in the background! Awesome astronaut “globe” medal, long sleeve shirt and another long sleeve finisher shirt. Free post race massage available. Post race food plentiful-warm soup, sandwiches, bagels and peanut butter and bananas! This race has yet to get the recognition it deserves. I’ve been looking for a fast, flat course to attempt a BQ. Didn’t think about it being in my own backyard. Highly recommend it!

My 6th and least favorite marathon. Little spectator support. Boring course. Hoping to BQ but 63 degrees at the start and almost 70 at the finish and very humid. Disappointed … MORE
My 6th and least favorite marathon. Little spectator support. Boring course. Hoping to BQ but 63 degrees at the start and almost 70 at the finish and very humid. Disappointed in the post race food. Only gatorade and oranges. No bananas, bagels, bananas, pizza. Marathon shirt is not comfortable and lettering is already coming off after about 3 washes. I would not recommend this marathon to anyone attempting to BQ despite what the website says.
