Came to run this race for state 48 to count it as West Virgina as it fell on my birthday this year and it did not disappoint! Loved the beautiful luscious green of the course, the rustic charm, and running over the bridge. Course kept my interest as there was even a trail section to mix it up a bit. A bit hilly, but I’m from Colorado so used to hills. Would like to come back and run again when my legs weren’t so sore from a marathon the weekend before. The aid stations were top notch and had everything from fruit towels, popsicles, Gatorade w ice, pickles, hash browns even etc! Everyone was so friendly and encouraging! Loved the huge medal that opened, the shirt design and the mason jars they gave out at the finish! Such a special touch to have Hatfield and McCoy there at the finish giving out high 5s! Thoroughly enjoyed this race and would recommend!
