Did this race since I happened to be in town and I love organized runs. Started in a nice park, headed north for just over 3 miles, turned around, and joined the 10k and 5k runners near the start and then headed east. Mostly flat on a paved multi-use trail with a fair number of non-race runners and cyclists. I’m glad I brought my own water because aid stations were minimal. Overall a fine race! Fun pancakes at the end.

This is now my favorite half marathon (I’ve done probably 50-75 races over 29 states thus far). Absolutely beautiful scenery. Just the right amount of challenge – it’s at just above 3000ft elevation to start, and a decent climb over the first mile. Then minimal hills to the turnaround, and you get a different view of the canyon with stunning views of the falls as you make your way to the finish – and of course then you get rewarded with flying down the steep incline you climbed at the start. All paved, well-maintained trail (just a wee bit of grass and gravel near the start/finish). Fun viewpoints along the way. Great support and water stations. The medal was meh, but that’s not what I come for so I don’t care. Tshirt was nice. Twin Falls is a decent town, we also went to city of rocks (super cool, not crowded at all), balanced rock (only one other group there), and miracle hot springs for a mineral soak (a phenomenal post-race relaxation treat). Had dinner at elevation 486 (superb) just before sunset. Highly recommend!

Challenging course! All trail – some packed dirt, some looser rocks. Started at just above 4000ft with 3000ft elevation gain to the halfway point, then back down. It was mostly a fast hike for me, coming from flatland Florida, and although technically difficult, the course provided amazing views. Brought my hydration pack which was necessary. Recommended for those who want more of a challenging course.

One of my favorite half marathons! It’s a point-to-point so you start early. It was chilly so brought some throwaways but actually was able to use gear-check. It warmed up throughout the race but still weather was lovely. Only a handful of covered bridges but it was still nice scenery and rolling hills, and the people along the course were so supportive! The towns are adorable, but you have to eat early – we found it hard to find a place open past 7 near the hotel (near the finish). We checked out the Dartmouth campus which wasn’t far, which had some good options. A fun smallish race but it sells out fast so you need to set an alarm to sign up!

Highly recommend! Great SWAG – seriously the best of the hundred or so races I’ve done. Challenging course with a fair bit of climbing but so much crowd support! All paved. Feels more like a major than a small-town race. Lots to do in Cincinnati!
