Overall this is a well organized race. I think with the heat spiking on that day it would have been nice to have another water station or 2 however i am sure last minute additions like this could potentially be very difficult.

Overall this is a great course for people wanting to do a 50 mile trail run. Overall the course is relatively easy and not super technical although there are a few technical trail sections primarily due to the amount of tree roots that are exposed. The event is really well organized and the aid stations are fantastic and give runners plenty of fueling options. I would recommend arriving early to get a good parking spot.

This race is typically organized very well and is great experience overall. The course itself is a little bit on the hilly side but nothing too crazy. Weather in Texas is a gamble at this time of year as it can either be iced over (like 2015) or a bit on the hot side (like 2016).
