The Monterey Bay Half Marathon is easily and absolutely one of my all time favorite half marathons! From check-in to the finish line this event is a well oiled machine! The expo was easy to navigate and well stocked with merchandise from the local Fleet Feet and other vendors for all your race day necessities and other fun not so much necessary things. The start was also very well organized. It was easy to find your corral and there were plenty of port-a-potties. The start line announcers were cheerful, hyped the crowd, and the race started on time. The views from this race are phenomenal!! You might see deer, seals, birds, otters, or even a whale! The crowd support and aid stations kept us going all the way to the finish cheering, fun signs, water, electrolytes, and nutrition. The finishers plaza was fantastic with a generous snack box and unique medal for every finisher. I have no negative things to say about this event and highly recommend it!!

This race had it all! Stunning scenery, awesome crowd support, stocked aid stations at convenient intervals, a great course route, and a yummy pair race snack box. Everything was meticulously organized for the race expo to the starting line up to the runner village post race. If you are local, I highly recommend joining the Fleet Feet Monterey training program and VIP program! I 10/10 recommended this race and hope to do it many more times!!

I was unable to get a bib for the Big Sur International Marathon (this time) but that didn’t stop me from coming out to show my support for my friends that were running the full marathon, 11-miler, 21-miler, and relay! This race is absolutely magical! Even being a spectator is an awesome experience.
I knew roughly a dozen participants in every distance category of the race and they all had an absolutely amazing experience. Some of their remarks were about the connections made along the course with other runners, the absolutely stunning scenery, the brutal hills, and how well the race was executed.
I am hopeful that I will get a bib for the 2023 event, and if not then I will most definitely be out to cheer on all the participants again!
