This is by far the best half marathon I have run as far as scenery. You run all throughout Philly and the streets are shut down for you. It’s amazing- if you do any running events- you cannot miss this one!!

This race takes you a little through center city and through Fairmont Park- for the majority of it. There is one road up that takes you to an overpass which is a little steep- but doable.
The medal is cool and the shirt (runs small) but is really nice.
The best scenery for Philly is the Philly half by far! This is a good race though- I have done it for a few years.

This is a fun race! My kids love it and we go every year. You get water stations and chocolate- what’s not to love! The jackets they give are the best I have gotten- and last year they started giving out medals for the 5k ( which the kids love even more). They give you a chocolate dip with pretzels, marshmallows, etc. at the end- it’s delish!

I was so nervous to do my first marathon. I used the Hanson Method- it was really helpful. You do the half marathon twice here in Penny Pocket Park- you have the chance to chicken out which I was contemplating. But when you are running – the environment was nice and kind of getting lost in it which is good because it distracts you from realizing your running more than 20 miles. There were some shaded areas ( which was great) and the people running it are cool. You take a bus from the parking lot which was easy to get there. I hesitated based on the reviews which talked about the heat. But the shade was perfect- don’t let that stray you.

This race has great swag, the food after was awesome, and it was cool running through the AC tunnel- but the boardwalk is a hot mess! I have a low stride and boards are extremely uneven- I caught my foot and fell more than once- and I wasn’t the only one. People were falling left and right. Kind of scary.
