I wish there was a way to see the size of an event when signing up – this was my third race and the first two were ENORMOUS events. This was MUCH more reasonably sized. Enough people to not feel awkward, but not so many to be overwhelmed. I do think it’s strange that they advise not having earbuds due to the race environment as most of the route is pretty quiet – a good couple of water stops by otherwise just the occasional route worker to cheer you on. Well-marked between the 5/10 routes.

This event is ENORMOUS – could be very overwhelming depending on your experience and personality. Absolutely huge support system, fun, spectators, music, water stations, super well organized and runs like a well-oiled machine. I would absolutely run it again now that I know what I’m in for, but as a new-ish runner (this was only my second organized event) it was A LOT.
