This race was extremely well managed. Everything went very smoothly. It was a lovely course, mostly flat. Packet pickup was a breeze, shuttles to the race were quick and easy to find. The medal is huge. Easy and clear for spectators to find you. After run meal wasn’t the best but there was beer. The very best part of the race though was the supportive town. It seemed as though the entire town was out there cheering you on. Farmers were at the end of their driveways or on horseback cheering, some people parked their car and played their instruments on the side of the course, huge parties were happening in driveways (adult beverages provided) and some guy even brought out his grand piano! Then to top it all off (as if this weren’t enough support), restaurants and coffee shops all over town were giving discounts to runners. This is one race you must run!

Plan for hills, lots of up and down. Lovely views and great weather. Plenty of aid stations but the options are limited, only Gatorade, water and hammer gel. Maps were not correct even at the event. My family had no idea where the start or finish were due to incorrect information.
