Most of the course was scenic and varied quite a bit.
Frequent / appropriate water and gel stations.
Few downsides:
You cross the couple-mile-long Hoan bridge at mile 8 and mile 24, the mile 8 ascent was fine, but the elevation gain at mile 24 was very challenging and a bit defeating for a first-timer.
