As expected, Disney put on a great race, the weather was unseasonably hot, temps reaching into the 80’s later in the day and at race start humidity was 90%. Apparently, they shortened the course late in the day as well. The start is super congested and people are stopping often to take pictures with characters and such. If I were to do it over again, I would have participated in the Dopey or Goofy challenge and just enjoyed being at Disney alittle more.

This course is very flat and fast, two-loop with a long out and back through town. Once the marathon starts the second lap, the course is pretty devoid of spectators…and other participants. The race itself was well run. They moved the start to an area downtown that was a little hard to get to due to road closures and construction, but the nightclub at the start line was warm and had indoor bathrooms.

The Charlevoix area is a hidden gem. Scenic and friendly. The race was well organized, the course was scenic, with great views of the lake almost the entire way, nothing suprising or difficult. Decent aid stations. If you are looking for a northern Michigan race, this is a great option.

Charleston has a lot of history, so if you are into the tourist aspect, this is a great race. The race itself runs through some unique and scenic areas, as well as some industrial parks and a marina that was less than scenic. Overall the race was good, the finish line festival was great with a fun atmosphere.

It’s the New York City Marathon!!!! HUGE is an understatement. I can’t believe how well an event of this size runs, in the largest city in the USA. Everything was amazing, easily my favorite marathon to date, despite my personally dismal performance. Be advised, this is a tougher than expected course, it is not flat and going over all the bridges is like climbing and descending decent sized hills. Oh..and remember that the closed the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge a few hours before the race starts, so if you plan your own transportation (Uber, Lyft, POV) plan accordingly.

The point to point course is net downhill and is fast the entire length. The views of the lake are scenic and course support is great. Plenty of things to do in and around Duluth and Superior. Great finish line party too!!!
