Dan Chapman's Staging Area

I love this race, I was lucky enough to participate in the inaugural 2016 event and plan to run this race every year. Paired up with the Brazen Bay Breeze race two weeks earlier – it makes for a nice double feature (with triple connected medals). A not difficult course of out and back – a good flat course for a potential PR if you want to push it, otherwise just enjoy the scenery. As always Brazen puts on a great event – best medals, t-shirt designs and race course support of any race series I’ve participated in.

While there isn’t much scenery along the out and back course, this is a nice mostly paved run along the waterway beginning and ending at quarry lake. Bonus of a flat course with great support along the way. As always Brazen puts on the best events – great on course support, medals and t-shirt designs of any race series I’ve ever participated in.

This is a double loop course, not a bad thing, but I always have a little trouble with looped courses. His was a really slow course for me for some reason – I love point Pinole, and have run variations of this course in other races. Nice mix of bay views and running through the trees and paved and dirt trails. Aid stations were well placed and volunteers were supportive and encouraging. Over all a good event.

Woof – rough course after the rain! Lots of climbing, more climbing with a side of climbing. This course almost broke me as the mud was inches deep, hills were high and I was just recovering from the flu. It was not a great time for me, I struggled to finish – but brazen racing put on a great event (as usual). Support volunteers were wonderful and encouraging, and other racers were friendly and just as supportive. Brazen has built up an amazing set of races and a great community!

A valentine’s day (and cephalopod) themed run. Amazing bay views, easy flat out and back course. Even fighting a headwind for half the course didn’t put me off. As always Brazen puts on a great event – best medals, t-shirt designs and course support of any race series I’ve attended.

Another nice race, his is an easy-ish course, with great views of the South Bay. Great place to have a race – loved the location. Race support was great as always. First time at this location, and the course seemed pretty easy – but it fooled me into going out to fast and I paid the price at the finish, one of my slowest 10K times. Not Brazen racing’s fault – my general stupidity. Parking off site with bus transport to the start was easy and fast, and you shouldn’t worry at all about it.
