The scenery was beautiful and it was very well organized. This was my third time doing this race and the only thing I really dislike is the gravel stretch (about 2 miles). It seemed especially rough this year and I think this is the one thing that would make me pick a different race next time.

Beautiful scenery running through wineries with great views of the lake. Starting at the top of a hill, there are a few rolling hills and lots of downhill portions. The race starts at a winery that lets you in to stay warm while you wait and ends at a park next to the lake…the perfect setting for the awards ceremony and wine festival at the end. Plenty of hotels near the finish line and easy transportation to the start.
