Of the ten different marathons I have participated in, this is the most organized, which is why I will do it every year until I am no longer able to stay ahead of the sweep vehicle. From the exposition to the finish line support, attention is paid to all fine details that make this a wonderful experience for all runners. Aid stations are perfectly spaced along the course, well-stocked, and staffed by vibrant volunteers. The course itself is safe, well-marked, and rewarding to those who have trained. Crown support is back-loaded so runners get an extra push through the last few miles. About the only thing that can be said against this marathon is the subtle aroma of cow manure in the pastures along miles 2-5, but we can all try to alleviate that problem by eating more beef.
