55 degrees and cloudy the whole time. Very well organized and mile markers at every mile. Point to point race. Very short bus ride to the start(about 10 minutes). Nice shirt and very nice medal. This can be a very fast course and the weather seems to be very nice every year. Finish right next to the Ocean and go for a swim.

13.21 miles.19 feet of gain. Start temp 32 degrees. Finish temp 40 degrees. Great race with great running weather. It was freezing in the morning(30-32 degrees), but you can park close to start line and sit in your car till its time to race. Course is completely flat, very well marked, plenty of aid stations and toilets on course. Water and Gatorade on course. Great swag. Great medal. Money to top 3.

For this race I ran an 8 minute PR. 2:47:42. 26.22 distance. 484 ft of elevation gain and a nice 1224 ft of elevation loss😀. There are some rollers along the course, but nothing crazy at all. That downhill is gradual which is nice so we don’t beat up our quads. The finish next to the Ocean is amazing. Temperature was mid 50’s at the start and low 60’s at the finish. The shirt and medal we got were amazing as well. If you haven’t ran this race it’s a must.

This race is awesome. Starts and finishes at the Madonna Inn. Parking available within walking distance to start line. Nice cool morning, but the wind did pick up a bit as the day went on. I got 611 feet of gain. Course right at 13.1. A lot of aid stations (water, electrolytes, gels) every 2 miles. Beautiful course that runs through downtown SLO with a lot of locals cheering you on. Very well marked course. Age group awards available for many Age Categories(Got 1st in my Age group😀).

This is my 3rd straight year running this race and I plan to make it my 4th next year😀. Race started right on time(7am). Mid 40’s with no wind at the start. It was cool the whole race. Plenty of volunteers, expectators, aid stations, and even a guy riding his bike on the course with some music 😁. This course is great to run a fast time. I ran a PR. On my Garmin I got 13.18 for the distance with a whole 26.2 feet of elevation gain!!! I really recommend this race. Cool sweater, shirt, huge medal, free coffee, hot chocolate and beer at the finish.

13.14 miles, about 350′ of gain. Very well organized race that started right on time. Weather was very nice at the start (57 degrees). I was the 1:30 pacer for this race and it seemed like it could be a nice course to run a fast time. A lot of expectators along the course. Plenty aid stations, nice medal and awards to top 3 in different age groups. Will come back next year for sure to wither pace or race.

13.09 miles, 1300 ft elevation gain, 2200 ft elevation loss. This course has a lot of downhill, but it also has 1300′ of gain which is a lot for a half. A lot of rolling hills that feel really tough specially after running a lot of downhill. Course had some awesome views and they provide free race photos and video. Plenty of aid stations with water and electrolytes. Very cool morning, but I heard people saying that it can get super cold up there some years. Overall it was a great race where I got a nice 1 minute PR but when I run it again next year I know I can improve.

13.07 Miles. 544 ft elevation gain. 929 ft elevation loss. First 3 mikes were the fastest, dropping 650 ft and gaining 275. Last 10 mikes was an out and back on a winding road on gentle rolling hills with a lot of turns which made it difficult to hold a steady pace since you are always either running downhill or uphill. Plenty of water stations and Johnny Cash music along the course. Nice medal and shirt. Race started right in time on a very cool 47 degree morning. Not enough porta potties at the start for all the runners… Huge lines. 5k race started at the same time a quarter mile ahead of half marathon so within a couple minutes we had to work out way around all the 5k walkers and runners. Overall it was a nice Half marathon that I would do again if I happened to be in that area for some reason. Price to register is very cheap $45-75 depending when you sign up. This is my 3rd year running this race. Here is where I ran my 1st ever half and this year I came for my 32nd. Race starts right on time like always. No delays. 13.15 for the distance. 451 ft of gain and 611 ft loss. First 5 miles are slightly downhill with hillier miles being mile 6 and 10. Great volunteers, plenty aid stations. Park at finish and take bus to start or park at start and then take bus back to start once you finish your race. Race day packet pickup available. 2 free beers included, nice medal and shirt.

Nice hilly course mainly on dirt and soft sand and pavement in some areas. 700ft of elevation gain and 13.11 for the distance. Very well marked course with some people cheering you on the course. Lead bicyclist were nice specially since I was in first place the whole race:) Aid stations were nice and they served both Gatorade and water. There are hills throughout the course, but the biggest hill is at about mile and its a nice and steady climb that last a little over a mile, but what goes up, must come down so you can really fly on those last 2 miles of the course.

I was the 3:03 pacer for this race and finished in 3:02:24. I got 26.20 for the distance with 231ft of elevation gain. Course was very well marked, scenic, ran alongside a creek for a few miles and even ran through a winery. It was 54 degrees at start. Race started on time. By the time I got done it was not hot yet. About 70. But it got over 100 for those finishing over 4 hrs. Medal was amazing, jacket and shirt were also nice and if you compete on Saturday for 5k or 10k you get an additional medal. Overall this is a great marathon that’s mostly flat and fast.

This is an awesome race that I have paced 2 years in a row for BeastPacing. The first 6 miles have a slight elevation and mile 7 has the biggest hill of the course. After mile 7 it’s mostly slightly downhill the rest of the way. I got 675′ of gain and 13.16 for the distance. This year it was a bit chilly (45°) at the start. Race started on time. I parked at start and then took shuttle bus back to start. This is a point to point race that starts in Santa Ynez and ends in Solvang. Great race, but don’t expect a PR on this course.

I liked that the race started right on time at 8:15am. Parking was easy to get to and was right next to bib pick up and and start line. This was my first time running the 5k race and got 1st place overall. The only medal I got was 1st place in age group and that was it. I was expecting something else for winning the race. Course is very well marked with a lot of volunteers and 1 aid station around mile 1 or race.

My first race was the half marathon in 2016 and the race was delayed 20 minutes which just sucked and was the only thing I complained about. This race started on time, lots of aid stations, toilets, people cheering you on. Medals were awesome. The jacket we got was very nice as well as the I BQ’d shirt for those who qualified for boston marathon. Group awards for top 3 in each age group were nice as well. I will definitely try and make this marsthon or half a race I do every year. 2 years in a row now.

The weather was very good for running. About 38 degrees at the start, minimal wind. Race started right on time. 275 feet of elevation gain, 13.23 miles. Course was very well marked with adequate aid stations and no spectators at all since it’s a military base camp and no one lives there. The medal was very cheap and the race is very small. I came in 2nd place overall for the half marathon and the marathon had very few runners with the first place runner coming in at around 3:30 hours. I will try and run it again next year only because I’m a local guy. If I was not from here, I’d probably not run it again.

Nice and challenging course. Got 6.30 miles with 1025 feet of elevatiin gain on my watch. First 2 miles are fast and after that it’s hills for the rest of race. Biggest climb starts at about mile 3 and you gain about 500 feet in less than a mile. Course well marked with volunteers at crucial turns. A lot of rocks in some sections and a lot of stairs towards the end of the race. Medals only for top 3 finishers in each age division. My age division was 21-39 and although I placed 7th overall, I did not place in my age group:(

From what I’ve heard weather is very cold, but this year that I ran it it was a warm morning. Course is fast and flat. A lot of spectators, volunteers, aid stations. Parked about a mile from start line to grab shuttle. Then a shuttle from finish line to parking lot. Nice medal, nice shirt. Big race with a lot of fast runners. Good course for a PR. I was very excited to pace this race as the 3:08 pacer and did my job by finishing in 3:07:29. Race had a 7am start time and at 7 they told us there would be a 5 min delay, then 20 min delay then 30 min delay. They eventually told us they didn’t know what time the race would start so we all went to use the toilet or just sat and waited. Race eventually started over an hour late, hot day, around half way in the race there was about 3 miles of going uphill, but what goes up, must come down. Course was nice with a lot os spectators and I think we could have used some more toilets and aid stations along course as well as more volunteers at crucial intersections. Saw a group of runners go the wrong way during the race. This was the Inaugural race so I think it will only get better.

For this race I was the 1:35 pacer with beastpacing so my job is always to run a few seconds under 1:30 and help out other runners. There was some confusion as to where to pick up shuttle bus to take us to start, but we eventually figured it out and were late to the start, but race director delayed start time since he knew there were some issues so I still made it. Course was very scenic along hwy 1 and we had grest views of the Pacific Ocean the whole race. Although there were some hills, it wasn’t bad at all. My watch said it was 1358 feet of elevation, but it felt like it was a lot less. I really enjoyed this race!!!
