Highly recommend to runners of any level. While 26.2 is a long way, the volunteers and spectators are there to motivate you through. The challenging part, both physically and mentally, for new runners of the course, is the last 4 miles but the end party makes it all better.

This course is parts of the Flying Pig Course. Great scenery in nice. Toughest part is the first few miles of incline and ends fairly flat. Decent crowds along course. Hydration station folks are on it. Only issue, and I get men starting in the last corral because it is a women’s race, is all the women walking starting at the start line. I wasn’t able to get to a good pace until the pool/lake about 2 miles in due to groups and lines of participants stretched across the road. Good party at the end. Listening to a lot of multiple time runners of the event, this race is always cold and they wished it was a week earlier than it is planned. Great event for women and men but geared towards women.

A small race in a great community. The are ridiculous or maybe it was just me recovering from a weeklong preschool given stomach bug but those hills. Brutal but the scenery just makes you smile though the pain. Local made swag for the half runners. Awesome food at the finish. Expecting to see this race sell out next year. I’ve been telling everyone how well it is run, how peaceful the area is, and hopefully ribfest will be the same weekend.
