Course is beautiful and flat. Runs along a river for ~9 miles. The first 9 miles along the river is dark, but the moon is beautiful reflecting off the river. Watch out for snakes- had a near miss at ~mile 7😳. The back half basically runs down the other side of the river through lush tropical forests. A little soul crushing out &back ~20. The final sadistic trick is to climb a very steep bridge at mile 25.5. Finish area was minimal-cups of water, beer, and cheese pizza. The packet pick up and swag was minimal as well- T- Shirt and several coupons. Overall- Highly Recommend due to the scenery. Just keep in mind the potential for hot weather- and it was hot this year(2022). 66~80 degrees.

This course is very runnable- slightly rolling – no major hills. Running past a Saturn 5 Rocket and Space Shuttle is very inspiring to say the least(Murca!). Course support was adequate, however, you should bring your own jells to be safe. The best part of the finish area was the hot chicken soup! It was very settling on the stomach after gulping down 5 packs of gu🤢. If you’re not from the area, plan to stay at least a couple of nights. Huntsville has a very vibrant down town area full of southern charm and hospitality.

Beautiful race that showcases the best of KC. It is hilly, but most of the difficult hills are in the early stages, except for miles 22~25 which kicked my tail(but that’s normal for me anyway- not the race’s fault:) It’s the longest downhill finish ever – drops 160’ the last half mile. Plenty of aid stations, good crowd support throughout. There are none of the typical industrial areas or highway stretches that suck the life out of you. The entire race was either in downtown or neighborhoods. Highly recommend to stay at the Westin. It’s right at the starting line with beautiful views of the city. Great expo as well – located at the Union Station with lots of swag.

This is a very difficult course rewarded with absolutely jaw dropping scenery especially along the Hanauma Bay Coast. It will be hot- starts mid 70s- ends low 80s. The course starts with a climb around the base of Diamond Head – flat for the next ~6 miles, then massive hills going to and coming from the turn around past Hanauma Bay(Sandy Beach). Finally at approx mile 22, there is one last massive hill back to the top of the Diamond Head Base. Long 3 mile down hill to finish. This was the first year for marathon runners. The aid stations were plentiful and well stocked with Gatorade and Water. Most stations had cold water which was a bonus. They did use the old school Velcro ankle bracelets which will leave a pretty good souvineer on your ankle. Hopefully, these will be upgraded to bib chips in the future. Overall, I highly recommend this race.

Plenty of well organized aid stations. Plenty of Gu and Gatorade. Course was very hilly, but really enjoyed the challenge. Lots of free parking right next to the start and finish line. Plenty of portapotties at the start. No waiting! After party was Awesome- lots of free beer, margaritas, and barbecue. Garmin is a class Organization- Highly recommend the race.

Everything about this race is top notch. Race organization and runner support is always outstanding before, during and after the race. The course has only one major hill around mile 6, but is flat, gently rolling and down hill for the rest of the race. There is always continuous crowd support and music throughout the course. One of the best!

Flat – great pre race support. Awesome post race party(Brett Michaels). Really cool to run down the strip. If I had it to do all over again, I’d Lock myself in the hotel room the day before. It’s way too easy to get trapped in to too much walking(i.e. going to Jeff Dunham at Ceazar’s Palace the night before). Overall , fun race- get a 24hr buffet afterwards…and wear it out!
