This was my 3rd year running the Bellingham Bay Half and I will likely go back for next year as well.
The medal is the most unique I’ve ever received. It’s a piece of art.
The race itself is well organized. The local youth soccer league kids are present all along the course at aid stations and road crossings cheering you on.
In the 3 years running it, the weather has been decent. Slightly cool but not cold.
The course consists of a lot of small hills, nice views of the bay, and downtown. The hills aren’t too bad with the exception of the last one.
I don’t stick around for the post race festivities. The line for the beer and kombucha is way to long to stand in after running.

The information leading up to the race was minimal. The website is not especially useful for first time runners as far as parking and course information.
It didn’t seem like there were enough port a potties at the beginning and initially they didn’t have toilet paper.
Water stations were good and spaced nicely.
Overall, a nice race. I was happy to run it and support a good cause. The people running it all seemed very involved and added a nice personal touch.

This was a beautiful run. We were blessed with perfect weather, not too hot and not raining. Good aid stations along the course and abundant food at the end. MORE

The finish line festival was fun with beer, burritos and music.
The weather was perfect this year, but there is always a risk of rain or snow.
I will likely do it again.

This was a fun Half until the hill at mile 12! Perfect weather this year. It was the largest run I’ve ever done, but never felt over crowded while running. MORE
